Back in the day, there were only a few makeup products used to beautify yourself. Now there are so many it becomes overwhelming. We talk about how you can simplify your kit by using different ways to apply your makeup products. Yes, you can use different makeup products for multiple reasons by slightly bending the rules. These days we are told makeup products are made for one a specific area, but we can actually use them on different parts of the face. This means you don’t have a huge kit to get the makeup look that you want.
Concealer:
First of all, we are going to talk about concealer. Now, concealer is usually used underneath the eyes or to cover up any imperfections or pimples on the face. Concealer is a great product that is very similar to foundation, but slightly heavier and thicker. When you apply makeup you can use concealer to do a lot of different things. If you have a couple of different coloured concealers, you can use a darker colour to contour your face. Another great way to use this product is as an eye primer. What an eye primer does is it puts a base down on your eyes so that your eye shadow will last a lot longer and the pigmentation is a lot brighter. But you don’t necessarily have to buy an eye primer to get this look. Using a concealer over the eyes works wonders and does a very similar job, if not the same as an eye primer.
Eyeshadow:
Eyeshadows are great because they come in so many different colours and shades. This means you can use them for so many different things. Just because it’s called an eyeshadow palette doesn’t mean that you just have to use it for the eyes. When you apply makeup try using an eyeshadow as a blush. See if your palette has a really nice pink or peach tone. If you want that bronzed look, see if your eye shadow palette has a beautiful brown colour and use that as a bronzer. You can also use a nice light, shimmery eye shadow as a highlighter. Just because it doesn’t have the name blush, bronzer or highlighter on the product doesn’t mean that you can’t use the colours on different areas of your face.
Eyeliner:
There are so many different eyeliners out there from pencils, liquids or gel. You don’t necessarily have to use liquid or gel eyeliner on your eye to get a dark line on the eye. When you apply makeup create a nice smoky look by just using a dark black eyeshadow. If you want a perfected line add a little bit of liquid or water to the eyeshadow and it will turn into a liquid very easily. It may not be waterproof like liquid or gel but it will still give you the same look.
Eyebrows:
You don’t have to go out and buy an eyebrow pencil or specific eyebrow shadow. Try playing around with a matte tone colour eyeshadow and it may do exactly the same job. Make sure that you’re not using anything with shimmer or glitter or that may look a little bit funny. But if you have a really nice matte neutral eyeshadow, why not use that in your eyebrows? As a result, you have one less makeup product that you don’t really need in your kit.
Lipstick:
Have you ever needed a certain lipstick colour? Or you’ve done this amazing eyeshadow look and you want something to match? Well, all you need to do is grind off a little bit of eyeshadow in the colour you desire, put a bit of gloss or lip balm with it and mix it in. There you go, you’ve got yourself a new lipstick colour!
Blush:
When you next apply makeup try using a lipstick as a blush. You can pop some powder over the top for a matte look. Or, if you want a little bit more of a Jewie look pop it straight on blend it in and you are good to go.
